How to Add an Event
Everything you need to know to get your event listed on What's On Merthyr Tydfil — for free.
All listings are free
Any event in or around Merthyr Tydfil can be listed at no cost. We review every submission and aim to publish within 24 hours.
Every event must be linked to a venue already in our database. Before submitting, browse our venues list to check your venue is there.
If it's not listed yet, submit your venue first — once approved (usually within 24 hours) you can then submit your event and select it from the dropdown.
The full name of your event exactly as you'd like it to appear on the site and in Google search results. e.g. Bingo Lingo – Outdoor Summer Special
The date your event starts. For events that run across multiple days (e.g. a festival), also fill in the End Date field.
Start time for your event. Shown in the listing and on the event page. Leave blank if the time isn't confirmed yet.
Select your venue from the dropdown. The address and map are filled in automatically. If your venue isn't listed, add it here first.
Pick the best fit from: Live Music, Comedy, Club Night, Family, Food & Drink, Arts & Culture, Sport, Community, and more. This controls which category page your event appears on.
Enter the ticket price — e.g. £10, From £5, Free – ticketed. Tick Free event if there's no charge; a "Free" badge will appear on your listing.
Link to where people can buy tickets or find more info — Skiddle, Eventbrite, TicketSource, your Facebook event, your venue's website, etc. A "Get Tickets" button will appear on the event page linking directly to this URL.
Tell people what to expect — lineup, acts, theme, what's included, any age restrictions, parking or accessibility info. The more detail the better. This appears on your event's page and helps people decide to come.
Your name, your company name, or the promoter behind the event. Used in Google's event listings. Leave blank to default to "What's On Merthyr Tydfil".
Got a poster or photo for your event? After submitting the form you'll get an option to email it to us. We'll attach it to your listing.
Images work best at 1200 × 630px (landscape). If no image is provided, a category placeholder is shown automatically.
We review every submission manually and publish within 24 hours.
Once live, your event appears in listings, on the category page, in Google search, and in our weekly newsletter (if it falls within that week's send).
